CGI in Germany has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud by becoming a certified Google Global Service Partner. As part of the partnership, CGI will use Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace even more for the development and delivery of innovative cloud services for clients.

Together, CGI and Google will work to deliver cloud solutions that help clients implement innovative business models and new digital services on their path to digital transformation. The primary focus of this newly expanded partnership is on the banking sector and similar security-sensitive industries.

"We are currently seeing a rapidly increasing demand for sophisticated and secure cloud services and the associated infrastructure and managed IT services.  By further intensifying our collaboration with Google Cloud, we can now deliver even more customized solutions to our clients in numerous industries for the digitalization of their business processes."

- Udo Wilhelm, Senior Vice-President of Consulting Services, Global Account Executive Banking, CGI in Germany.

Cloud services enable clients to deploy agile, highly scalable and real-time applications while at the same time reduce the load on internal IT infrastructure. By handling peak loads in the cloud, local resources (servers, storage) have to cover only the base load. This means clients can scale back investments, reduce capital commitment, and shift IT costs from CapEx (fixed assets) to OpEx (operating costs).

An important industry focus for CGI’s new collaboration with Google is the banking sector. Google Cloud offers financial service providers unique services, in combination with CGI's industry expertise, to transition to the cloud securely. Banks are now serving as role models for other regulated industries that must observe strict security requirements in using cloud solutions.

"CGI is a valuable service partner that has deep solution expertise and consulting experience in industries that are strategically important to us. Together, we will expand the range of industry-specific cloud services on the Google Cloud Platform."

- Bernd Stopper, Head of Partner Sales EMEA North, Google
