As CGI looks ahead at 50, Vijay Srinivasan, President of CGI’s U.S. Commercial and State Government Operations, reflects on the attributes that continue to shape the organization’s direction. Here is the transcript of his remarks:

Reflections on 50 years

CGI's 50-year milestone is extremely important, not just for me, but for every CGI Partner in this organization. It is fascinating to see an organization that was founded in 1976, have continued to be in business, thrived in not just one country, but now a global organization with 94,000 people. But still remain core to the values with which it was initially started, with the dream that our founder had. What comes to my mind is the way we show up differently day in, day out.

When I go to visit clients, I can often, I tell them, you show me a room full of consultants, I can pick those who are from CGI, because not because they're wearing a CGI pin, but because of the way they would come across. It's that affinity toward our clients. It's the way we show up and deliver value to our clients and the way we show up and support each other as CGI Partners is what this milestone signifies to me. So it’s the journey that we have had together and looking forward to what comes next.

Delivering value for our stakeholders

I genuinely, in my core, believe that we are just getting started as an organization. We know what it takes for us to make our clients successful because we have been in their business for a very, very long time supporting them.

We have CGI Partners who treat this company as their own. And then we operate in markets that have a lot of potential. I think the core underlying thing that makes all of that happen is all about people.

The future of CGI is…

The future of CGI is bright, and it is in all our hands. Ultimately, this is an organization that treats people as the core asset. CGI is going to be what we all do together in the next 50 or 100 years.
