As CGI looks ahead at 50, Rakesh Aerath, President of CGI’s Asia Pacific Global Delivery Centers of Excellence, reflects on the attributes that continue to shape the organization’s direction. Here is the transcript of his remarks:
Reflections on 50 years
To me, CGI’s 50-year milestone is both a celebration and a commitment to the future. It celebrates the ambition of our founders, the strength of our culture and the trust clients have placed in us over five decades.
This milestone also reminds us that our greatest legacy is not only what we have built, but also how we continue to evolve with purpose and keep building what's next in a way that makes all our stakeholders proud.
Attributes that shaped our journey
Through every stage of CGI’s growth, what has remained constant is who we are at our core. I often think of the way clients describe CGI when I meet them on a regular basis.
As a trusted partner that understands their business, stays close to their priorities, and is there with them for the long term. For me, that is the essence of CGI. We may have evolved in many ways, but at the core, our ownership mindset, our proximity to our clients, and our commitment to building for the long term are what sets us apart.
Delivering value for our stakeholders
What excites me most is the opportunity to help our stakeholders navigate change with clarity and confidence.
More than just technology what our clients need is a trusted partner, an expert of choice who understands their business and delivers sustainable outcomes.
The future of CGI is…
The future of CGI is not just about keeping pace with change, but really shaping it in ways that are responsible, practical, and meaningful to all our stakeholders. I believe lasting progress happens when you take people along with you, especially in times of transformation.
