Technology constraints cited as top challenge
Retail banking executives cite technology constraints as their top challenge in pursuing digital transformation, followed by cultural change and change management. Cybersecurity and regulatory compliance concerns also remain consistent challenges year-over-year.
Majority are using the cloud
This year we asked executives to share how they are using cloud computing, and 43% indicate they are using it for their own organization, 3% for customers, and 38% for both, for a total of 84% using the cloud, which is above the global average (76%) across the industries covered in our interviews. Additionally, they indicated how their organization’s cloud usage is divided between private, public and hybrid clouds (as shown in the above chart). When asked if their organizations have mechanisms in place to locate where key data assets are stored in the cloud, 21% of executives do not have clarity on this issue.
Benchmarking clients’ satisfaction with their own IT organization
For the second year, business and IT executives interviewed ranked their satisfaction with their own IT organizations based on the 10 key attributes of a world-class IT organization. Overall, transportation, post and logistics executives cite generally low levels of satisfaction with their own internal IT organization, especially for the attributes of ensuring a stable IT operational environment and providing high quality services (0.6 gap with lower business leader satisfaction).
