Military readiness is essential for national security, and in the modern era, demands constant innovation, risk-taking and a mission-first mindset. The U.S. military’s global presence presents an unimaginably complex challenge, and the Department of Defense’s industry partners must be capable of taking it on.

At CGI, we have been serving the U.S. federal government for over 30 years, consistently demonstrating our commitment to quality. Our expertise combines cutting-edge technology with an innovative team of experts across key technologies, ensuring we deliver the most effective solutions to support national defense and security.

Additionally, the integration of Aeyon and its more than 800 experts into CGI Federal expanded our collective defense expertise and strengthened our ability to deliver mission-critical solutions.

Defining the dangers

Technology, low in cost and highly accessible, has lifted both state and non-state actors higher into the national security threat space. The age of having just three or four powerful adversaries is long over. However, the same technology also powers a strong defense against those threats. Leveraging the power of AI and other emerging technologies to increase mission capacity and improve outcomes is essential for Defense and Intelligence agencies and the military services.

As 2026 unfolds, the Defense, Intelligence and Space business unit at CGI Federal, which I lead, is focused on several priority areas to meet the needs of America’s military and defense agencies, including:

  • Data-driven national security: A data-driven national security enterprise leverages trusted information and secure artificial intelligence (AI) to derive deep insights quickly. In today’s world of fast-moving threats, security must stay ahead of the challenges. At CGI we leverage AI and other emerging technologies to ensure systems and networks are always secure.
  • Enhanced military readiness: The Marine Corps Platform Integration Center (MCPIC) has proven itself incredibly capable, tracking 500,000 assets worth more than $8 billion with 100% accuracy. Through total asset visibility (TAV) platforms like MCPIC, we aim to elevate enterprise-level visibility and predictive readiness, positioning TAV as a defense-wide capability to ensure military readiness and superiority.

In addition, we supported the U.S. Marine Corps in achieving their first three clean financial audits, beginning in FY23. No other military service, nor the DOD as a whole, has ever achieved a clean audit. The fiscal audits are carried out annually by independent firms.

As our partnership grows with our DOD clients, we are expanding our local offices to encompass new and growing operations. For example:

  • Lawton, Oklahoma: This office, also known as the Fires Innovation Science and Technology Accelerator (FISTA), was established in direct support of the U.S. Army at Fort Sill. This location enhances our capability to develop and deploy advanced technology solutions for military applications, solidifying CGI Federal’s role as a trusted partner in defense innovation.
  • Jacksonville, Florida: Joining an existing office established to host MCPIC, our Jacksonville location supports total asset visibility for the larger DOD.

CGI Inc. celebrates 50 years of serving government and commercial clients worldwide in 2026. As we celebrate this milestone, CGI Federal remains dedicated to driving innovation, excellence, and alignment with military priorities, ensuring a secure and prosperous future for our nation. We are AI-native, agile and mission-focused in all we do.
