Montreal, Quebec, March 9, 2000

Eircom and CGI, known as Certis in Europe, today announced they have signed a CDN$7.5 million five-year contract whereby CGI will provide eircom with training and other support services related to the telco's call centre offering. As part of this contract, CGI consultants will help train eircom personnel who will in turn support their clients in the management of call centre operations.

Through the implementation of optimal business processes, including handling of workflow, as well as customer call management and monitoring, eircom's clients will be able to maximize the benefits of their integrated call centres. Ireland is a major European hub for the call centre industry and relatively few service providers have the expertise to support established call centre operators with business process enhancements.

Eircom is the principal provider of fixed line and mobile telecommunications services in Ireland, offering a wide range of advanced voice, data and multimedia services. "We are very pleased to be partnering with CGI on this initiative. CGI is a good match for us as they bring the full suite of leading-edge call centre methodologies and have the skill-set to help us further enhance services to our clients," says Chris Lowe, Director of Corporate Business, eircom.

Jean Brassard, CGI's President and COO added: "We are very exited about working with eircom, our first engagement within the Irish telecommunications sector. This will strengthen our existing telecommunications presence in Europe where we continue to penetrate the market and further our reputation as an end-to-end IT services provider of choice. We delivered a similar consulting service to an Australian-based company and feel confident that our experience and knowledge base within the telecommunications sector makes us a good partner for eircom."
