Springfield, Missouri, September 11, 2008

CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, is partnering with City Utilities of Springfield Missouri (CU), a community-owned utility serving southwest Missouri with electricity, natural gas, water, telecommunications and transit services. CGI will deliver an enterprise-wide Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) solution that will automate and monitor the work sharing between all operational and customer systems delivering services to CU's customers.

CGI's utility solutions team will implement its PragmaCAD MWM solution to coordinate the movements and operations of CU's field workforce by automating resource allocation, scheduling, assigning, and dispatching of field work across the organization. The solution will be integrated with customer information (CIS), geographical information (GIS), and outage management (OMS) systems, in addition to its natural gas compliance application, to ensure field resources respond to customer needs as fast as possible.

CGI's solution and implementation approach will allow CU to take advantage of workflow functionality during the project implementation stage. The goal is to ensure that CU benefits from the PragmaCAD features as soon as possible. The project is structured into three (3) phases; phase one to manage CIS generated orders such as field services, special meter reading, power quality, and electric services. Phase two will automate the natural gas distribution operations, and phase three will integrate electric transmission and distribution services.

"CGI's MWM solution best met our field mobility requirements, particularly the ability to configure the software to meet our specific enterprise needs," said Mike Moore, Director - Telcom & Operations Technology, at CU. "PragmaCAD will allow us to improve our field productivity and will help our field resources record and manage their work throughout the day, while reporting results in real time. The flexibility and scalability of the solution, and its integrated real-time scheduling engine will enable us to continuously improve the customer experience."

"CU is an industry leader that requires state-of-the-art solutions," said André Bouchard, Sector Vice-President for CGI's Utility Solutions and Services. "We are pleased that they look to us to meet their expanding technology needs."
