Improve wind turbine performance using Power Curve Analytics

Link your turbine data to RMS to detect, analyze and resolve underperformance.

RMS features efficiency KPIs which measure the performance of renewable assets. Now you can go a step further with the new Power Curve Analytics tool, which allows users to activate underperformance detection for any generator or power plant, triggering alert messages via the notification system whenever a set of built-in performance thresholds is breached.

RMS now features a dashboard which can display multiple power curves simultaneously, enabling users to select and add any power curve for comparison. RMS also supports the creation of virtual power curves by selecting the source and the filters applied to the various inputs, such as wind turbine, time period, operating status, wind speed, wind direction, active power and temperature.

In the dashboard, every Power Curve Chart shows measured, historical or reference power curves, wind and production deviations and scattered points, while the Performance Chart displays the performance KPIs of the selected power curve. Whenever these indicators point to underperformance, RMS performs a diagnostic test using the available data, and presents a probable cause for the lack of performance, as well as the probability value. This automatic diagnosis greatly decreases the time for analysis, accelerating the resolution of performance issues and reducing efficiency-related production losses.

DistribuTECH

5-7 February, New Orleans

CGI will be in New Orleans next month, at the annual DistribuTECH event, which will this year host 11,500 attendees, with over 300 utility companies represented.

You’ll find us at booth #10817 with our experts ready to talk to you about a range of solutions covering both energy distribution and generation.

And why not mix business with pleasure and join us at a private reception at Mardi Gras World? You’ll enjoy a relaxing evening and see the fabulous carnival floats being built, just a month before the big day!  Get in touch today to secure your place.

Generg picks RMS to support global growth strategy

Hot on the heels of a successful implementation of the RMS platform for Generg’s renewable plants in Portugal, the European energy producer has signed a contract with CGI to integrate its international portfolio.

The first site—the Bois Joli wind farm in France—has already been connected to Generg’s renewables operation center. Wind and solar PV plants across France, Italy, Poland and Bulgaria will be integrated into the platform over the coming months. This will enable the company to monitor, operate and improve the performance of its diverse, multi-technology portfolio seamlessly across country borders from a single platform.

Wind Europe

2-4 April, Bilbao

In April this year, Europe’s most important event for the wind industry, the annual Wind Europe Conference & Exhibition will be held in Bilbao, Spain. During the three-day event, more than 8000 industry experts and 400 exhibitors from 50 countries will get together to expand their knowledge base, make new contacts and develop their vision for the future.
CGI will be at the event to demonstrate the latest RMS features, and to showcase how clients can use RMS to increase revenue and extend the lifetime of their assets. Come and join us at stand 3-F43, in Hall 3.

EDP Renewables expands reach with RMS

2018 was another year of expansion for renewable energy giant EDPR. The company added more than 800MW of installed capacity to its international portfolio of renewable assets. In total, 12 wind farms across Europe, Brazil and North America were added to EDPR’s RMS implementation, in addition to three solar PV plants in the U.S. All of these assets are now connected to the CGI RMS platform that EDPR uses to manage and control its entire worldwide portfolio.
