Sonja Pietilä leads the application of artificial intelligence across CGI’s health and social care accounts. She heads CGI’s innovation team, working closely with clients to turn emerging digital capabilities into practical, scalable solutions.
Her work focuses on applying AI where it delivers real clinical and operational value, including speech recognition, voice control and video analytics. Sonja helps organizations adopt these technologies responsibly, with a clear line of sight from innovation to everyday use.
In addition, Sonja is responsible for CGI’s collaboration with Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) and Planmeca. The initiative focuses on developing and commercializing an AI algorithm that supports the early detection of brain hemorrhages, helping clinicians make faster, more informed decisions.
Sonja also brings deep expertise in cross-organizational data management, including cross-enterprise clinical document sharing (XDS), vendor-neutral archive solutions, and medical imaging. Across her work, she combines technical insight with hands-on collaboration to help healthcare organizations improve outcomes through data-driven, AI-enabled solutions.
