Simon is a member of the Aerospace and Assured Space Systems sub-sector in CGI’s Space Defence and Intelligence (SDI) business unit. He is a Senior Solution Architect focused on the commercial aviation sector and serves as the design authority for the CGI VirtualFlightRecorder. He is also a member of the EUROCAE WG118 for flight recorder standards.
With over 30 years as a CGI Partner, Simon brings 20 years of design and solution architect experience across several industries. He has worked on large system development, installation, acceptance and migration projects in both the secure systems and commercial sectors. Before working in Aerospace and Assured Space Systems, he contributed to initiatives in transportation, telecom, energy and government, as well as satellite navigation, including design authority roles for the Galileo Key Management Facility.
As a member of the SDI Technical Leadership Team, Simon is a strong advocate for knowledge sharing and supports knowledge sharing initiatives within the senior SDI technical community. He is a member of the CGI Emerging Technology Practice Quantum Technologies steering group, promoting quantum technology within CGI UK. His focus areas include quantum computing, sensing and post-quantum security. He also collaborates with clients and quantum technology partners to identify use cases where these technologies can deliver the most value as they mature.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in electrical sciences and a computer science diploma from the University of Cambridge. He has a keen technical and scientific curiosity across industries and enjoys bringing together ideas from these diverse domains.
