Your digitalization partner for the energy transition
The shift toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by 2050 is one of the most complex challenges of our generation, and the energy sector is at the forefront of this transition. We serve the entire value chain within energy and utilities, from renewables management to energy production, storage and distribution, to energy markets, retailing, billing and financial settlement. We focus on your end-to-end needs, providing industry-focused consulting, systems integration and managed services – accelerated by intellectual property – to help you navigate the energy transition and remain competitive.
Renewable energy at CGI
Our renewables expertise includes consulting, asset optimization whether on-shore or off-shore, analytics, renewables management, digital energy and asset and resource management. CGI’s Renewables Management System (RMS) platform monitors and controls 8,000 generators (wind, solar, hydro) in 12 countries and our teams collaborate with organizations to power forward the journey to energy transition.
Learn about our study: AI for the prediction of failures in wind turbines
In response to the need for climate action, energy distribution companies are demanding a shift to renewable energy sources, such as wind. However, wind turbines are vulnerable to several external factors that cause mechanical failure. Repairs are expensive and lead to production downtime, significantly reducing the renewable energy transmitted to the grid. To investigate this problem, CGI supported an academic study about “Artificial Intelligence in the Prediction of Failures in Wind Turbines” using CGI’s Renewable Management System (RMS). The study explores the implementation of a machine learning system that enables owners to predict wind turbine failures.
Our experts Rita Burnay and Diogo Rebimba will be on hand at our booth and in the Poster Area of the event (P0004) to discuss this study. Contact us for more information.
