Fairfax, Virginia, July 6, 2004

CGI-AMS, part of CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB), today announced Release 5.2 of Tapestry®, a modular solution for convergent rating, billing, and enterprise order management. Tapestry meets the diverse needs of today's retail, wholesale, and government telecom service providers, allowing clients to achieve high customer satisfaction while simultaneously controlling costs and supporting new products and services.

"Tapestry's modular design, convergent functionality, and scalable architecture represent key aspects that any communications service provider demands from a customer care and billing solution," said Paul Hughes, Director of Billing and Payment Applications Strategies at the Yankee Group. "CGI-AMS's experience in systems integration and its commitment to delivering top quality software and consulting services help the organization offer differentiated value."

The release features two new components which provide customers with important self-care and revenue assurance capabilities:

  • Tapestry Electronic Bill Presentment (EBP) - a Web-based invoice and reporting tool which provides customers with self-care capabilities for bill presentment, flexible reporting, and powerful invoice and call detail analysis.
  • Tapestry Invoice Validator - is a rules-driven, GUI-based solution to validate electronic bill outputs to achieve high-quality standards compliance, reduce verification and dispute costs, and assurance timely revenue flow.

"The expanded self-care and revenue assurance capabilities of Tapestry stem directly from our work with current customers and further improves both the breadth and value of the suite," said Nazzic Turner, senior vice president of CGI-AMS. "With Tapestry and Partner Business Suite, CGI-AMS enables providers to offer and bill the data-rich convergent offerings needed to compete in today's market."

In addition to the new components, the release also includes improved multi-location taxing, support for Oracle version 9.2, and other customer requested enhancements. It also aligns Tapestry with CGI-AMS's new Partner Business Suite offering, designed to handle every facet of a carrier's relationship with data services providers which drives speed to market for new content and applications to maximize revenue potential and minimize network exposure.
