For decades, we have partnered with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostics and healthcare technology organizations as they’ve navigated continuous change. From early paper-based processes to today’s connected digital ecosystems, we help modernize operations and accelerate innovation to deliver safe, effective therapies to patients faster.

As intelligent automation, GenAI, Agentic AI and traditional AI drive rapid change across discovery, development and care delivery, the life sciences industry must navigate expanding opportunities amid rising complexity. Our role has grown beyond solution delivery. We now serve as a steady guide helping organizations anticipate disruption, embrace new technologies and translate innovation into measurable value. We work with clients to build what’s next by developing the digital foundations, intelligent workflows and collaborative models that are defining the industry’s future.

Looking ahead, our commitment remains constant: delivering deep domain expertise, trusted collaboration and measurable outcomes that empower clients to advance with confidence. We ensure organizations not only keep pace with transformation but lead the industry forward.

Strengthening financial integrity in a complex regulatory environment

Life sciences organizations operate in one of the most regulated and financially intricate environments. Managing reimbursements, government programs and compliance requires accuracy and scale, areas where manual processes can limit performance.

Intelligent automation reshapes these operations by digitizing high-volume processes, improving oversight, reducing error rates and strengthening financial resilience.

With a leading biopharmaceutical client, for example, we introduced intelligent automation across revenue and reimbursement operations, including Medicaid-related processing. The organization achieved:

  • US$12 million in annual financial recovery and savings
  • Approximately US$10 million in Medicaid claw-back reimbursement
  • Approximately US$2 million in annual manual-effort savings

These outcomes highlight how automation improves efficiency while enhancing compliance and financial integrity.

Accelerating R&D with accessible AI and actionable insights

Scientific discovery depends on timely access to knowledge, yet researchers today face overwhelming volumes of literature, data and emerging evidence. The challenge is not finding information but interpreting it fast enough to guide the development of next-generation therapies.

AI is becoming an essential accelerator. Natural language processing, automated summarization, and computer vision now help scientists quickly analyze evidence, focus on higher-value reasoning, and make consistent decisions.

For example, a large pharmaceutical company implemented CGI’s GenAI engine, reducing scientific reporting from weeks to minutes. We also collaborated with Care Fertility, the UK’s largest IVF provider, to enhance embryo assessment. By implementing deep-learning computer vision across 15 clinics, we helped:

  • Support informed clinical decisions
  • Reduce variation
  • Improve the patient experience

When adopted at scale, these capabilities give R&D teams the agility, speed and insight needed to unlock new scientific possibilities.

Modernizing diagnostics and manufacturing for global scale

Quality, efficiency and reliability are essential in diagnostics and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Yet many organizations still rely on legacy or fragmented systems that limit visibility and hinder scale.

Modernized manufacturing platforms, such as unified test data systems, digital quality workflows and advanced analytics, give operations teams a stronger foundation for performance and compliance.

To support Bayer Diagnostics, we co-developed a modern Test Data Management System (TDMS) tailored to its manufacturing operations. The solution improves visibility, standardizes processes and enhances data-driven decision-making across production lines. Results included:

  • 25% increase in production testing productivity
  • 30% reduction in operating costs

With more connected and data-driven operations, manufacturers can better meet demand, reduce costs and maintain the continuity patients depend on.

Enabling global regulatory compliance at enterprise scale

Growth, mergers and expanding product portfolios create increasingly complex regulatory ecosystems. Organizations must manage millions of documents, comply with country-specific requirements and ensure validation across systems while keeping operations running.

Our large-scale regulatory information management (RIM) transformations and automation-enabled migration processes help unify regulatory ecosystems and strengthen global compliance.

For a global pharmaceutical client, we managed one of the industry’s largest regulatory content migrations, implementing and validating a cloud-based Vault RIMS platform across 88 countries. The initiative included:

  • Migrating more than 10 million regulatory documents
  • Consolidating 113 repositories into one unified ecosystem
  • Achieving 80% effort savings on submission archive migration through Python automation

The outcome is a more transparent, scalable and resilient regulatory environment ready for future growth.

A legacy of innovation—and a human-centered future

Across research labs, manufacturing floors and global regulatory operations, our mission in life sciences is human-centered—helping clients deliver life-changing therapies, diagnostics and technologies to the people who need them most.

As AI-native research, smart manufacturing, precision therapeutics and connected regulatory ecosystems evolve, we will continue to partner with industry leaders to build solutions that are technologically advanced and grounded in responsible, ethical and sustainable practices.
