CGI Partners across our Asia Pacific operations volunteer their time and expertise to pro bono projects that support nonprofit organizations (NGOs) in the region. By supporting their missions, we help deliver social and environmental benefits to local communities through education, health, visibility and economic empowerment.

Among these are Tech for Good in India and Sustainable Outreach and Lifelong Advocacy to Rekindle (SOLAR) Hope in the Philippines.

Tech for Good

Through our Tech for Good pro bono initiative, we are developing technology-driven solutions for 15 NGOs. Our involvement and solution design help NGOs adopt modern technology to improve efficiency, outreach and impact.

Some projects are complete, some are underway, and others are just beginning. Each project tackles specific challenges the NGOs face, such as limited funding for IT infrastructure and access to professional technology services.

AIM InnoBot

In collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), CGI Partners developed AIM InnoBot, a virtual chatbot designed to engage school students in innovation and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning.

The interactive bot acts as a digital mentor, guiding students as they explore Atal Tinkering Laboratories concepts, understand design thinking and begin innovation journeys.

AIM is the Government of India’s flagship initiative to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. By making innovation more accessible to students—especially those in government schools and underserved communities—InnoBot contributes to India’s vision of nurturing 1,000,000 young innovators.

Nisarga multilingual AI chatbot

To support the Bengaluru Climate Action Plan, CGI Partners developed Nisarga, a multilingual AI chatbot that helps citizens understand climate challenges and adopt sustainable actions. Nisarga simplifies complex climate topics and encourages practical behavioral change, showing how everyday actions contribute to a greener world.

We integrated the chatbot into the Bengaluru Climate Action Cell portal, after completing design, development and testing. Today, Nisarga provides easy access to information on waste segregation, tree plantation, mobility, energy conservation and sustainable practices, encouraging civic engagement at scale.

SOLAR Hope

Lighting communities. Changing lives. Giving hope.

These guiding principles shape SOLAR Hope’s mission to provide solar and sustainable solutions to marginalized communities in the Philippines. Their programs focus on electrification, education, livelihood and other community development initiatives.

SOLAR Hope was one of the first organizations to register on CGI for Good, our global volunteering platform, which connects CGI Partners to more than 2,000 activities worldwide. Our involvement began with our first major outreach program on March 18, 2023. After visiting the community, we saw broader needs and expanded our support.

Our outreach activities have since grown to include education, livelihood, health and technology programs, such as:

  • Donating solar home systems to Dumagat families
  • Providing free health and dental care
  • Supporting “Buy-anihan” (inspired by bayanihan, a Filipino value that embodies the spirit of communal unity and cooperation), a program that enables CGI Partners to purchase pre-ordered crops and goods from the community.

As part of our pro bono initiatives, we strengthened the NGO’s ability to reach other remote communities in the region by rebuilding and rebranding their website. Launched in May 2025, the new SOLAR Hope website showcases their programs and impact, inspiring others to support their mission.

To help advance learning opportunities, we also equipped the new Laiban Integrated School information and communication technology laboratory with a dedicated solar power station, internet connectivity and computer equipment. These facilities give students greater access to STEM learning and digital skills.

As these efforts continue to grow across the region, they reflect our deep commitment to working with the communities in which we live and work and to delivering practical, sustainable solutions that make a lasting difference.
