Fairfax, Virginia, January 11, 2012

CGI Group Inc. (CGI), (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) U.S. President George D. Schindler participated with President Obama and Vice President Biden in a forum of business leaders and experts exploring approaches to create more jobs in America.  Recognizing industry’s role in fostering U.S. economic development, Schindler described CGI’s proven strategy to open full service IT centers in small town America, creating more than 1,000 high-quality jobs in communities that need them the most.

CGI’s onshore delivery centers in Belton, Texas, Lebanon, Virginia, and Troy, Alabama meet strict government and commercial security requirements and offer end-to-end IT services such as application development and business process services.  As the sole IT services company participating in today’s jobs forum, Schindler presented CGI’s successful approach based on strong collaboration with local communities, governments, and academia. He said communities ready to diversify their business base and leverage the investment in broadband; access to existing economic development programs; and the availability of a large, qualified talent pool from local universities, colleges, and technical institutes are vital.

“Creating high quality IT services jobs that build U.S. IT expertise here at home helps us meet our global clients’ needs to balance risk, value, and time to market.” said George D. Schindler, President, CGI U.S. “CGI’s onshore delivery centers stimulate local economies, spur innovation that increases our nation’s competitiveness, and support our country’s national security objectives. We are pleased to be able to share our successful approach with the President and contribute ideas to encourage more companies to insource American jobs. It’s good for our clients, good for business, and good for the country.”
