CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, today announced the signing of a contract extension with Ministry of Health in British Columbia to provide IT support on over 100 critical applications used by health professionals, health administrators and patients. This four-year extension for $15 million builds on an existing five-year agreement.

Ministry of Health is responsible for ensuring the quality, appropriateness, and timeliness of health services to over four million British Columbians. Under this extended agreement, CGI will continue to provide 24/7 service to mission critical applications, including  those that  support core services provided by the Ministry in the areas of patient safety, mental health, public health and vital statistics. The agreement will also encompass a wide range of technology services including application and systems development, architecture consulting, project management, and infrastructure planning.

Leveraging its local delivery model, CGI will deliver this work from its Victoria office, maintaining highly skilled IT jobs in British Columbia.
