Providing customer-centric passport application process for the American people

CGI handles the high-volume processing of over 23 million passport applications annually. We provide services at all domestic passport offices, including 24 passport agencies, three centers and two print facilities. Our services include, but are not limited to, processing and preparation of applications, printing of passport books and travel cards, quality control and the return of personal documents. Additionally, we perform acceptance agent functions at agency public counters. We assist U.S. citizens with application processing issues and provide support to congressional and other government agencies requiring assistance with passport applications.

The U.S Department of State enlisted CGI to help scale up operations and provide citizen support in response to an unprecedented surge in passport demand after the COVID pandemic.
