Fairfax, Virginia, August 18, 2017

CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) announced the launch of new digital and mobile technologies for the City of Los Angeles designed to track city purchases and replace outdated procurement and inventory management processes that for decades have required manual intervention and paper forms.

Following a four-year partnership to upgrade the Los Angeles Financial Management System (FMS) and replace its legacy outdated procurement system with CGI’s solution, the city launched on time and on budget, introducing increased transparency, efficiency and convenience for vendors doing business with the city. The solution also allows public officials to more responsibly procure public services.

“Our partnership with CGI has led to great opportunities for efficiency and innovation, from streamlined processes to tablets for our warehouse workers,” said City of Los Angeles CIO Ted Ross. “CGI has proven to be a trusted partner for us as we continue to use technology to improve the lives of residents, businesses and visitors across the City of Los Angeles.”

On behalf of the nation’s second-largest city, CGI successfully deployed its built-for-government CGI Advantage enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. In Los Angeles, the system features an online Vendor Self-Service platform where vendors can see and update account information, view contract and payment status, submit and track invoices and respond to bidding opportunities.

The CGI Advantage solution for Los Angeles includes a system that digitizes purchasing across contracts, inventory and catalogs – creating an online purchasing experience like those of well-known consumer shopping sites. For inventory management, the CGI system features an iOS and Android-compatible mobile app, increasing inventory accuracy and eliminating the need for manual forms.

“The CGI Advantage technology will dramatically streamline the city’s procurement management and help city leaders reach their goal of making Los Angeles more business-friendly,” said Dave Delgado, Senior Vice- President, CGI. “We are proud to have developed our built-for-government solutions to scale to meet the unique needs of state and local governments across the nation.”

The launch of CGI Advantage comes just following the recent announcement that CGI will expand its partnership with the City of Los Angeles with a 10-year Managed Advantage contract for cloud-hosting and managed digital application services.
