CGI-AMS Inc., the wholly-owned U.S. operating
subsidiary of CGI Group Inc. (CGI) (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB), today announced that the State of Utah and the Commonwealth of Kentucky recently went live with its web-based AMS Advantage 3 enterprise resource planning (ERP) management application after successful implementations that were on time and within budget. Designed specifically to meet the unique resource management requirements of governments, AMS Advantage simplifies the complexities commonly associated with implementing ERP in public sector environments, saving state and local governments' time and money.

CGI-AMS project teams collaborated with government staffs to configure and implement AMS Advantage to meet each state's needs and to seamlessly interface with other software systems they currently use.

On July 1, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, a CGI-AMS client since 1998, went live with AMS Advantage 3 to enhance the Commonwealth's enterprise business processes and manage its annual budget, in addition to running its complex procurement and payables processes that average more than 3,000 online solicitations for goods and services and nearly 10 million payments totaling over US$14 billion each year. The implementation project was delivered on time and met the budget of US$11.5 million.

"CGI-AMS has been a long-term partner of ours, and once again has worked with us to deliver a complex, statewide system on schedule and on budget," said Ed Ross, Commonwealth of Kentucky Controller. "The relationship we have with them enables us to work closely with a partner that understands our business and who is able to provide a system that meets our unique needs."

The State of Utah upgraded its statewide financial system with AMS Advantage 3 to manage its US$9 billion annual budget. Approximately 40 state agencies and 1,000 users are expected to utilize the application.

"The ability to have so many state agencies use the AMS Advantage solution enables us to better manage our transaction processes," said John Reidhead, Director of finance for the State of Utah. "In turn, that allows us to better manage the state's budget and provide our citizens with a greater level of service."

"Our clients should be commended for their successes with AMS Advantage," said Mike Keating, Senior Vice-President for state and local government, CGI-AMS. "On the day the State of Utah went live with Advantage 3.0 (FINET), Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr. declared July 3 ?State Financial Employee Day' to congratulate and thank state employees for their hard work in implementing the new system. These new projects not only improve performance but generate excitement and pride. We are thrilled to support the wave of Advantage implementations across the country. This summer, Utah and Kentucky join 6 other state and local government organizations going live with the application."

"The fact that AMS Advantage is used by so many state and local governments shows that both our product and service delivery models have the flexibility that governments demand," said Donna Morea, President of CGI-AMS. "We are quickly becoming the premier ERP vendor to the public sector, as AMS Advantage is the only solution designed specifically for government that can be quickly and seamlessly integrated into existing systems to improve overall business performance."

From cities, counties, and states to schools and universities, AMS Advantage works for government at all levels and is currently used by more than 190 public sector clients, 50 of which have committed to upgrading to AMS Advantage 3. Designed specifically for government, the solution incorporates CGI-AMS's 30 years of government experience and knowledge in the public sector market, and has a flexible, open architecture that facilitates decision-making, automates document workflow, decreases paperwork and improves customer service.
