CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB) announced today that its web-based, AMS Advantage® 3 enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution has been
selected by Orange County, California, for the upgrade of its finance and
purchasing information systems, collectively known as CAPS (County-wide
Accounting and Personnel System). The 5-year contract is valued at up to US$17.5
million.
CGI’s AMS Advantage ERP solution was selected for the upgrade
of CAPS after a strategic assessment conducted by the Gartner Group, who was
engaged by the County to review alternative solutions. Orange County recognized
CGI’s AMS Advantage solution as providing the best value and functional fit for
the County.
CAPS is a vital component of Orange County’s infrastructure
supporting critical operations such as financial planning, budget development,
cost collection, procurement, vendor and trust fund payments, and payroll and
personnel record administration. CAPS is currently licensed to the County by
CGI. The upgrade to the AMS Advantage 3 web-based solution will bring enhanced
efficiency, improved controls and reporting, streamlined workflow and processes
as well as cost savings to the County.
“Our objective is to maximize our
use of the AMS Advantage product line by using every piece of functionality
available as government business processes are built into the application,” said
David Sundstrom, Auditor-Controller, Orange County. “Advantage provides the best
core engine for running financials on the market. We are confident in our
decision to proceed with an upgrade, as it is further supported by the
recommendation of the Gartner Group.”
“Orange County is a sophisticated
and knowledgeable government client that routinely implements innovative and
effective IT solutions to meet its financial business requirements. Orange
County’s elected and appointed leadership team has a clear vision for success
and we are very proud to be their partner. We are excited to be part of their
team to implement yet another successful AMS Advantage solution,” said Dave
Delgado, Vice-President, CGI.
The first phase of the project will
integrate financial management functions, including budgetary controls, payment
processing, grant management and a common requisition and receiving system. The
contract includes a 2-year implementation, a multi-year Platinum Maintenance
program that provides full support of all customizations and 24/7 support with a
dedicated, onsite response team. Phase two of the project includes the
implementation of the performance budgeting and vendor self service application
modules.
“Orange County demonstrates local government’s due diligence in
selecting the ERP solution that truly supports the unique needs of government,”
said Michael Keating, Senior Vice-President, CGI. “We are quickly becoming the
premier ERP vendor to large governments with complex needs like Orange County.
We are thrilled to continue our successful relationship with the County.”
From cities, counties, states, schools and universities, CGI’s AMS
Advantage ERP solution works for government at all levels and has helped over
190 public sector clients better serve 90+ million citizens. Designed
specifically for government, the solution incorporates CGI’s 30 years of
