We partnered with three organizations dedicated to supporting people with disabilities in the UK, the Czech Republic and Germany. Our teams began by listening to their objectives, needs and requirements. Together, we then explored options and used our expertise to help create solutions to meaningfully support their work.

Using VR to make marathons more accessible for neurodivergent participants in the UK

For some runners and spectators, the noise, crowds and excitement of marathon day are energizing and motivating. Through the National Autistic Society and Brighton Marathon, we learned that this feeling is far from universal.

The busy atmosphere of such mass-participation events can be overstimulating for many, especially neurodivergent individuals, including autistic people.

Our objective was to develop an application to help neurodivergent runners and others attending the 2025 Brighton Marathon, which attracts more than 12,000 runners and 150,000 spectators, prepare for the intensity and crowds.

To achieve this, we used virtual reality (VR) and footage from the 2024 marathon to develop a 360-degree walkthrough, showing viewers what to expect at each stage of the route so they could feel more prepared and confident at the starting line.

When we demonstrated the VR experience during the Brighton Marathon Weekend, 86% of users identifying as neurodivergent said the experience made them much more likely to enter a mass-participation event in the future. The project gained coverage in the local media, helping to spread the word about the importance of supporting neurodiversity.

We were proud to team up with the Brighton Marathon and National Autistic Society to make the event more accessible so all could participate fully. We look forward to the app’s full launch at the 2026 marathon in April.

Helping families navigate PEC care in the Czech Republic

Each year, 200,000 babies worldwide are born with pes equinovarus congenitus (PEC), a developmental orthopedic condition also known as clubfoot. Two hundred of these births occur in the Czech Republic.

Achilleus, a nonprofit organization in the Czech Republic, focuses on helping families who have a child, or are expecting a child, with PEC. In providing quality information about PEC and other aspects related to this diagnosis, the organization supports parents in the care of their children from birth, when treatment is most effective.

Our role involved creating an application and platform to offer easy, reliable access to PEC resources, including basic information, treatment processes, and doctors.

Combining our software development skills with end-user input and ideas from Achilleus, our team developed a mobile application and content management system to help track treatment progress, provide calendar notifications to help parents follow treatment protocols, and facilitate communication within the PEC community via chat, comments and tagging. Our experts also contributed to solution testing and provided maintenance support.

This unique, intuitive app is a useful source of information on PEC and treatment for families. Even better, this knowledge can be shared worldwide through the app’s launch on the Apple and Android stores.

Online catalog increases visibility and sales in Germany

In Germany, a nationwide network of specialized vocational rehabilitation facilities supports the participation of people with disabilities in working life. Among these is Oberurseler Werkstätten (Workshops), a community-based organization that provides vocational education, work opportunities and support for participants.

Founded in 1971, the organization operates in Oberursel, a town near Frankfurt. Its range of services includes workshops that create jobs tailored to an individual’s abilities and needs.

Our collaboration with the organization began with the Woodworking & Craft Workshop, which employs individuals to design and create a variety of handcrafted items, from greeting cards to wooden stools.

Since these products were only displayed and sold in their local shop, our challenge was to raise market and customer awareness to increase sales.

To help the organization reach a wider audience, our team designed, developed and implemented an online product catalog with photos and descriptions. Post-launch, we donated a professional light tent to help with maintaining and updating their product images.

The catalog led to greater exposure and increased sales for Oberurseler Werkstätten’s  mission.

These collaborations illustrate the power of community partnerships to deliver practical digital tools that expand accessibility, strengthen support networks and increase reach.
