The Groupement des assureurs automobiles (GAA) and CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A;
NYSE: GIB) have signed a five-year contract renewal agreement covering the
operational aspects of the Fichier central des sinistres automobiles in Quebec
(FCSA).
Under the terms of the partnership, the GAA has entrusted CGI
with the processing and distribution of motor vehicle claims records in Quebec.
CGI provides the hosting, support and upgrading of the FCSA application and
assures online access to the service for subscribers, who include insurers
issuing automobile insurance policies in Quebec and automobile insurance
brokers.
With the FCSA providing online access to claims data,
subscribers can learn about their clients’ previous claims history and establish
fair premiums for all policyholders.
“We are extremely satisfied with
the quality of service provided by the CGI team,” stated Daniel Demers,
Vice-President and General Manager of the GAA. “Over time, CGI has acquired
in-depth knowledge of our business needs, and this makes them an ideal partner.”
“We are committed to the continued success of our clients and to the
evolution of the insurance sector,” affirmed Paul Biron, Senior Vice-President
and General Manager, Technologies & Infrastructure for CGI. “Our extensive
experience with the FCSA has allowed us to continuously improve the solution and
offer the GAA the tools it requires to better respond to the needs of its
subscribers.”
