Sebastian Jansen is a Director and Acting Vice-President at CGI, as well as an expert in cybersecurity, security operations, and governance, risk and compliance. With over 14 years of experience, he helps organizations strategically align their cyber defense, systematically manage risk and build sustainable security frameworks. His focus is on integrating operational security, clear governance structures and effective crisis response mechanisms.
At CGI, he leads a team in the cybersecurity consulting division. While managing the Security Operations Center (SOC), he continuously develops security operations structures. Sebastian also takes on leadership responsibilities in the cyber defense domain and helps shape the strategic development of security services. His strength lies in translating complex security requirements into actionable concepts and ensuring organizations remain effective even in critical situations.
In a large-scale government project, Sebastian took over the management of a stalled SOC implementation and successfully put it back on track by redefining its scope and introducing agile methodologies. For international conferences with tens of thousands of participants, he served as the SOC Manager with full responsibility for cybersecurity operations, including risk analysis, 24/7 operations, and coordination with authorities and partners. His expertise is complemented by certifications including the ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and IPMA, along with training in risk and crisis management.
