Fairfax, Virginia, April 15, 2010

In September 2009, CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB; TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, announced plans to open a new Center of Excellence in Troy, Alabama. Today, this 16th global delivery center in CGI's network is now bringing 300 new jobs to Pike County and has become a true corporate “citizen” of the community.

As a result of the jobs created and the positive impact being made in Troy, CGI was named winner of Trade & Industry Development Magazine’s 5th annual Corporate Investment & Community Impact (CiCi) Awards.

More than 1,000 submissions were considered, concluding with 30 winners for the two categories—15 for Corporate Investment and 15 for Community Impact. CGI won in the Community Impact category.

“The Community Impact portion of our CiCi Awards celebrates economic development projects that have a profound positive affect on the quality of life for the citizens who inhabit the regions in which the developments are located, and the many who find employment because of these establishments, whether directly or indirectly,” said Trade and Industry magazine’s Development Team who gave out the award.

“CGI is creating high quality jobs in Troy that contribute to the country’s national IT infrastructure,” said Donna Morea, CGI President for the US, Europe and Asia. “The vision, leadership, and commitment of the City of Troy, Pike County, and Troy University convinced us that CGI wanted to be a part of this strong, forward-thinking, community. This award is a true testament to our powerful partnership.”
