Paris, France, May 15, 2005

CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.SV.A; NYSE: GIB) (CGI), one of the world's leading independent information technology (IT) and business process services providers has implemented e-Cohre, its new repository management solution, in the finance department of France Télécom.

e-Cohre guarantees data quality and consistency. The solution is designed specifically for large accounts that encompass various applications, because it allows for the maintenance of an up-to-date and coherent data repository that can be used in real time by all the information system applications.

e-Cohre is a highly innovative solution that offers the following benefits:

  • control of repository integrity and coherence from the outset
  • flexibility of management rules
  • management of the lifecycle of each repository collection
  • management, administration and documentation of each collection
  • multilingual Web format

“e-Cohre is a novel repository management solution on the market. In addition to flexible integration, the solution helps achieve productivity gains and allows for better sharing and use of repository data within an organization,” said Marc Vieillescazes, sales director, CGI in France.

A beneficial and highly successful implementation
France Télécom's finance department chose CGI and its e-Cohre solution to meet one of the company's key objectives: to optimize the control of specific repositories and thus reduce management costs. “Our repository management was not shared,” explained Gilbert Magri, functional urban planning and repository manager with Groupe France Télécom. “We searched the market for a tool to improve business processes but did not find anything that responded to our needs. CGI then offered us e-Cohre. This solution is an exceptional technological tool because of its parameterization potential and its ease of conceptualization. It also allows for a true business knowledge sharing approach. The different players who share the same repository data end up communicating with each other and understanding each other better.”

The implementation of e-Cohre at France Télécom impacted 2,000 users, who viewed the solution integration positively, given their involvement in the project. Although e-Cohre is easy to implement, users must be sure to properly document, explain and define repository data with a view to formalization and sharing.

A veritable strategic tool, e-Cohre contributes to the consistency of all management information as well as to IS consolidation. In addition to conforming to the latest regulations, e-Cohre plays a major role in financial data tracability and auditability.

e-Cohre has enabled France Télécom to achieve significant management improvements by:

  • reducing repository data update time
  • optimizing statement production time
  • improving management processes

With the successful implementation of e-Cohre, France Télécom is now planning to deploy the solution throughout the Groupe. The first stage of the deployment will affect almost 10,000 Groupe employees by 2007.
