CGI today announced the signing of an outsourcing agreement with PeopleSoft Canada, a leading provider of enterprise applications software. The alliance agreement will allow both partners to cooperate closely in providing their clients with cost-effective solutions for the outsourcing of management software. They will offer services such as software customization, conversion, integration, performance tuning and long-term support.

"CGI is pleased to be the first Canadian company to join PeopleSoft's Certified Outsourcing Partner Program," said Robert Desmarais, Vice-President, Outsourcing at CGI. "CGI has wide-ranging expertise in the delivery of outsourcing solutions to its clients in selected industry sectors. Working with PeopleSoft, we can leverage this experience and consistently provide clients with efficient services to manage their ERP systems on a day-to-day basis while also ensuring their long-term evolution."

Desmarais added that many customers come to CGI looking for end-to-end solutions and they are increasingly interested in extending a relationship beyond the implementation phase and channeling the knowledge and expertise that has been built up into the ongoing management of their systems.

"Looking beyond the current rush to solve Y2K issues, PeopleSoft's Certified Outsourcing Partner Program offers a full range of outsourcing solutions, allowing customers to focus on core competencies and gain competitive advantage," said Jeffrey Read, Director, Strategic Alliances and Marketing, PeopleSoft Canada. "Customers will gain the benefits of PeopleSoft's flexible, innovative software based on extensive knowledge of best business practices, as well as elite partnerships bound by a commitment to provide superior customer service as the trend towards longer-term outsourcing ramps up."

As part of an Implementation Alliance Agreement also signed recently, both partners are working jointly to further develop PeopleSoft implementation teams while expanding their services offering. CGI has a team of more than 100 ERP specialists who provide its clients with a full range of end-to-end ERP implementation services, including project management, process review, fit and gap analysis, evolutive prototyping and technical performance tuning, among others.
