Cleveland, Ohio, April 27, 2006

The Broward County (Florida) Clerk of Courts has selected CGI to design and
implement a document management system (DMS) encompassing all of its divisions.
The project is expected to be completed in 20-24 months.

Under the
contract, CGI will work with the Clerk’s technology department to analyze,
design, configure and implement the core components of the system. These
components will provide functionality for the imaging of new documents received
in court cases, back-file conversion of historical records, redaction of
confidential information as required by Florida Statutes, receipt and storage of
electronically filed documents, creation of electronic forms, utilization of
electronic signatures, electronic workflow processes for the efficient routing
and management of critical documents, and records management to comply with
State of Florida retention requirements. This system will provide a single
electronic document repository, and will provide access, either on-line or in
person, to any agency or person wishing access to these court records maintained
by the Clerk’s office. Annually, the Clerk’s office receives and processes over
20 million pages of documents in its Felony, Traffic & Misdemeanor, Civil,
Family, Probate, Juvenile, Marriage and Parking Divisions.

The Clerk of
Courts is a Constitutional Office with responsibilities that include serving as
the custodian of court records. “A primary objective of my office is to properly
secure and maintain court records and provide efficient access to them for the
court system, other justice agencies and the public” said Clerk of Courts Howard
C. Forman. “We look forward to working with CGI to apply the latest technologies
to maintain our dedication to continually improving the efficiency and quality
of our services and record keeping in Broward County.”

“CGI is pleased
to have this opportunity to develop and implement a leading-edge document
management system to serve the Broward County Clerk of Courts and its
constituents,” said Greg Robinson, director of consulting services for CGI. “The
DMS is part of a comprehensive offering of electronic records and information
system (eRIMS) solutions that we have implemented successfully in judiciaries
and government agencies nationwide.”
