Steven (Steve) Starace is CGI’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). He has led the company’s human resources function since 2023 and brings more than 35 years of operational leadership, including service as a business unit leader. In this capacity, he guides CGI’s global people strategy and innovation roadmap in support of our consultants and professionals worldwide.
In this role, Steve is a member of CGI’s Executive Management Committee and the Global Operations Committee, advising and aligning on how to continuously advance the experience of CGI’s consultants and professionals. He leads HR centers of expertise and business partner teams focused on areas such as talent management, learning and leadership development, organizational design, compensation and benefits, and health and well-being.
His demonstrated expertise in driving outcomes through digital technologies and operational efficiencies helps clients achieve organizational growth. He also has strong capabilities in balancing priorities across clients, employees and shareholders and in driving year-over-year improvements in revenue growth, profitability and stakeholder satisfaction. Steve has worked with global clients throughout North America, Europe and Australia.
Prior to this appointment, Steve served as the business unit leader for the U.S. Commercial & State Government’s East operations. In this role, he delivered CGI’s comprehensive range of services and IP solutions to clients across Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. He also has served in leadership roles responsible for CGI’s market-leading global financial solutions, including trade finance, payments and retail credit, with the objective of helping clients generate deeper organizational value.
Steve holds Bachelor of Science degrees in economics and mathematics from the State University of New York at Binghamton. In 2019, he received a CGI Builders Award for his contribution to the growth and success of the company.
