CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, today announced the City of Los Angeles selected CGI’s AMS Advantage® enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite to upgrade its legacy financial management system. The contract, awarded in a previous quarter as a result of a competitive procurement among leading ERP providers, is valued at US $18 million over a seven year term.

“Our relationship with CGI spans two decades,” said Randi Levin, chief technology officer and general manager of the City of Los Angeles Information Technology Agency. “We value the continuity of our partnership, CGI’s commitment to providing solutions that are truly built-for-government, and the results they have delivered to the city and state and local governments around the world.”

In addition to improving service delivery to the City, the AMS Advantage upgrade to version 3.8 will increase the efficiency of City operations, provide improved tools for data analysis, and deliver better data for decision-makers and stakeholders at all levels. As part of the installation, CGI and the City will work together to optimize the City’s business processes.

“In today’s tough economy, CGI’s award for the City of Los Angeles’ ERP system is evidence that state and local governments need a built-for-government ERP system to truly serve their needs at a lower life cycle cost,” said Pat Colacicco, vice president, AMS Advantage program. “CGI is in the business of satisfying customers and we are pleased to continue our 25 year relationship with the City and its citizens.”
