Rakesh Aerath, Senior Vice President, is the Chief Operating Officer of CGI’s Asia Pacific Global Delivery Centers of Excellence, where he oversees all central SBU functions. In this role, he manages the Facilities and Admin, Workforce Management, and Communities of Practice, along with cross-SBU initiatives. In addition, he is also responsible for a subset of the APAC business units - Financial Services Delivery Center, Communications, Media, and Enterprise Services Delivery Center, and Global Technology Operations Delivery Center.
A 24-year CGI veteran and a 2014 CGI Builder, Rakesh has held leadership roles across multiple industry sectors. Prior to his Chief Operating Officer role, Rakesh served as the Business Unit leader for the APAC Financial Services Delivery Center from 2018 to 2022 where he and his team consistently delivered strong results for all stakeholders.
Rakesh has also been driving critical cross-SBU initiatives such as the Human Capital Strategy program and innovation. He also represents CGI in external forums such as NASSCOM and is the President of the Bangalore regional council of the Indo-Canadian Business Chamber.
Rakesh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and an MBA in finance from leading institutes. He currently lives in Bangalore, India.
