CGI has achieved four advanced specializations in cloud migration and cloud security over the last several months, as part of a strategic effort to advance our Microsoft Gold partnership. To earn an advanced specialization, Microsoft partners must meet several requirements, including providing client references, undergoing third-party audits, demonstrating relevant skill sets, and meeting key performance benchmarks.

Our recent advanced specializations include the following:

Migrating Web applications to Microsoft Azure.

Partners with this specialization have demonstrated expertise in migrating and deploying production Web application workloads, applying DevOps practices, and managing application services in Azure.

Migrating Windows Server and SQL Server to Microsoft Azure.

To achieve this specialization, a partner must demonstrate deep knowledge, extensive experience, and proven success in migrating Windows Server and SQL Server-based production workloads to Microsoft Azure.

Providing cloud security in Microsoft Azure.

This advanced specialization validates the capabilities and experience of partners in providing comprehensive security across clients’ Microsoft Azure, hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Delivering Microsoft threat protection.

This advanced specialization demonstrates our ability to help clients protect against threats through the deployment of Microsoft Threat Protection, Microsoft Cloud App Security, and Azure Sentinel workloads.

“I am proud to see that our strategic investment in our partnership is rapidly yielding significant results for our clients,” said Eric Berg, Global Alliance Manager for Microsoft at CGI. “These are just the first advanced specializations we seek to achieve, and we look forward to building upon these and others by increasing our current skillset. Validating our Microsoft expertise and providing our clients with access to the vast array of Microsoft programs and solutions is a top priority for CGI.”

Our dedicated regional resources are likewise excited to capitalize on this achievement. CGI’s Sheila Mason, Regional Microsoft Lead, shared, “This achievement in such a short period of time marks a significant step in our partnership. It was a rewarding opportunity for our members to come together across our business units around the world to demonstrate CGI’s strengths in cloud computing. We are excited to bring our cloud computing best practices to all of our clients who have selected Azure as part of their cloud strategy.”

With more than 8,000 Microsoft-skilled professionals and 18 Microsoft Gold competencies, CGI remains a longstanding Microsoft Gold partner.
