RMS Mobile

RMS Mobile brings your portfolio to you

Simple and intuitive, RMS mobile enables you to monitor and analyse your portfolio while on-the-go.

A favourite with our clients, RMS mobile combines real-time monitoring of a renewables portfolio with key business operational indicators, and is easily accessed through a mobile app (IoS and Android).

The mobile app brings power plant information to your mobile phone or tablet in real-time, including turbine and substation status and alarms for portfolio tracking on-the-go. Some of the relevant features available include evolution graphs of the main historical indicators such as MTD and YTD production, budget and availability.

Native notifications alert you of specific, customizable conditions, such as when a turbine has stopped or a power plant is not complying with the required availability or efficiency indicators.

With RMS mobile you can stay on top of things, wherever you are.

SAS Forum in Lisbon

In May, CGI was Gold+ sponsor of the SAS Forum in Lisbon. This event focuses on advanced business analytics, including areas which are being incorporated into the RMS solution such as artificial intelligence and IoT. Our Director of Renewables, José Antunes, was there to share some of this knowledge with a presentation on the challenges and benefits of “Making IoT a Reality”, and to gather new ideas.

RMS scaling up

Scaling up

The renewable portfolio managed by RMS continues to grow every day. Since the beginning of this year, a further 14 wind and solar parks have been integrated with the RMS solution, including 182 turbines and 36 solar inverters. This represents an impressive 470MW of power which joins the 15GW already managed by RMS, which is enough to feed over 7 million households with 100% clean energy!

Onwards and upwards in Brazil

“The implementation of the CGI RMS solution will allow us to transform data into strategic information that will improve our decision making process, adding value to the business and mitigating its risks” -- Max Xavier Lins, QGE President

In Brazil, leading renewables company Queiroz Galvão Energia (QGE) is using the RMS solution to effectively monitor their entire wind power portfolio, and to bring operational and performance improvements. Bringing even more value to this client, we have since introduced a number of new functionalities, including:

  • RMS integration with a third-party interface which provides production forecasting figures based on wind modelling data.
  • Real-time detection of technical restrictions and under-performance of wind turbines.
  • Real-time nacelle deviation detection.

Building on the success of this project, QGE now aim to integrate their hydroelectric plants into the RMS system, with a view to extending the benefits of their centralised processes across their multi-technology portfolio.
