The Lorain County Department of Jobs and Family Services (DJFS) has become the first organization in the state to implement
CGI's electronic Common Application Form (eCAF) module. The module is an expansion of the electronic record and
information management system (eRIMS) that automates the processing and storage of the 40-page Common
Application Form required by agencies using the state of Ohio's CRIS-E (Client Registry Information System - Enhanced)
system. eCAF automates the Common Application Form so the Lorain County DJFS can store documents electronically,
serve clients more efficiently and streamline the re-certification process.

How eCAF works

CGI's eCAF module assists the Lorain County DJFS by digitally storing client information for easier access. The agency
previously utilized a manual process that required caseworkers conduct the client interview, to print the Common Application
Form, obtain the client signature and file the completed form. With the implementation of the eCAF module, the agency can
now automatically import the Common Application Form from the CRIS-E system, add the indexes and the digital signature
and store the form in the eRIMS solution for immediate access.
