CGI Joins The Green Grid as General Member

Fairfax, Virginia, June 2, 2010 -

CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB; TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of end-to-end information technology and business process services, today announced its membership in The Green Grid. The Green Grid is a technology-driven global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems.

For more than 30 years, CGI has been helping businesses and governments comply with environmental regulations and maintain sustainable “green” business practices with its environmental services and solutions. CGI continually measures and improves its own main data centers. The CGI Energy Board ensures equipment purchased through its data center modernization program complies with energy efficient regulations and utilize environmental monitoring systems to manage and adjust data center power utilization.

The Green Grid seeks to provide industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies that will improve overall data center and business computing energy efficiencies. By joining The Green Grid, CGI is helping to influence both developers and end users of data center technology.

“CGI currently utilizes free air cooling technology and hydro-electricity in many of our data centers,“ said Molly O’Neill, CGI Federal Vice-President, and former Chief Information Officer of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). “As a General Member of The Green Grid, CGI will work to advance energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems.
