Stockholm, Sweden, September 19, 2004

CGI, one of the world's leading IT and business process services providers, has appointed Bill Gavenas as the new managing director of its Nordic office. The new appointment follows CGI's recent merger with American Management Systems (AMS), which brings additional capabilities in consulting, integration, software development, outsourcing and software solutions delivering substantial value to CGI/AMS clients.

Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Bill will be responsible for all of CGI's business operations across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. He has spent 10 years with AMS and brings nearly 20 years' experience of managing international information technology projects, including programme management, systems implementation and management consultancy projects for both the telecommunication and financial industries.

Commenting on his new role, Bill Gavenas said, "CGI has been successfully operating out of Sweden since 1994 and has an excellent reputation in the Nordic telecommunications and financial industries with clients such as TeliaSonera, Telenor Sweden, Telenor Norway, BT Global Services, 3, and Föreningssparbanken, FSB. I am looking forward to strengthening and growing such partnerships as well as expanding CGI's current client portfolio across the region."

Gavin Chapman, senior vice president for Northern Europe, CGI, commented, "We are extremely pleased to have Bill heading up our Nordic operations. The CGI and AMS merger brings real benefits to our Nordic clients and significantly strengthens our presence, adding industry expertise and extending our services portfolio to allow clients to access new capabilities. Whilst CGI was focused primarily on the financial services industry in the Nordic region, AMS was particularly strong in the telecommunications sector. Bill's expertise and invaluable experience in both these markets will ensure our continued success across the region."
