CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB; TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, today announced the successful implementation and go-live of CGI’s AMS Advantage® Human Resource Management (HRM) payroll system at Los Angeles County, replacing the County’s 30-year-old CWPAY system with the new eHR Payroll System. The County’s new payroll system is the capstone to the multi-phased rollout of its long-term enterprise resource planning (ERP) project with CGI that includes previously implemented financial, budget and procurement systems.
With the new eHR Payroll System, the County now uses a fully integrated, built-for-government ERP system. Through the new system, the County was able to institute several changes to their payroll processes, including transitioning to a semi-monthly payroll and basing pay on scheduled work days vs. calendar days. These changes, and the overall modernization of the County’s payroll system and processes, were seamlessly implemented through extensive collaboration between the County and CGI. CGI’s AMS Advantage HRM solution accommodated these changes effectively due to the foundation of government processes upon which it is built.
“The unique built-for-government attributes of CGI’s AMS Advantage ERP solution allow us to approach complex financial and human resource system replacement projects in a spirit of configuration, not customization,” said Dave Delgado, Vice-President of CGI’s Public Sector West. “CGI is proud to continue to deliver best-fit, low-risk IT solutions to Los Angeles County.”
“With this AMS Advantage go-live, the County has experienced a smooth transition to a new payroll system,” said Robert Davis, Assistant Auditor-Controller, Los Angeles County, Calif. “The overall success of the County’s effort is a testament to the strength of the implementation team both at the County and CGI. CGI is a valued partner as we continue to modernize and improve financial and human resources services for the County.”
