Fairfax, Virginia – CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) today announced the rapid deployment of a grant application portal for West Virginia (grants.wv.gov) that provides transparency and streamlines CARES Act grant application processing, reporting and payments – speeding pandemic relief to local governments and businesses throughout the state.
“West Virginia needed a collaborative partner with deep domain expertise and a first-class solution to help speed relief to West Virginians who have struggled during the pandemic,” said Ann Urling, Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Jim Justice. “CGI committed to deliver our new solution in less than 10 days and they met that commitment. We thank them for helping streamline CARES Act assistance to local governments and ultimately the citizens of West Virginia.”
West Virginia’s portal offers a simple, intuitive experience for CARES Act grant applicants and recipients, and enhances the state’s ability to manage awards and distribute CARES Act grant funds. The solution leverages the proven CGI Advantage ERP platform and is the first phase of an initiative to digitally transform West Virginia’s grant management capabilities, including self-service for grant sub-recipients to apply for funding, complete reimbursement requests, perform financial inquiries, and submit progress reporting. The project is an example of CGI’s commitment to helping governments rebound and reinvent in the midst of the pandemic.
“Running government operations requires specialized functionality and expertise – especially when it comes to grants management,” said Surabhi Subramanyam, Vice-President of the CGI Advantage program. “CGI consultants and solutions specialize in meeting the unique needs of the public sector. Congratulations to the joint State of West Virginia and CGI team on efficiently and effectively delivering a solution to provide critical relief to communities across West Virginia that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
