Trey Kennedy is the Vice President of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Programs at CGI, advising business units and federal agencies on SBIR Phase III execution, compliance and rapid technology transition. 

Trey’s expertise spans the SBIR and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs and Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) programs. He also draws on experience in innovative contracting, mission acceleration strategy, appropriations law and foreign military sales. 

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Trey has worked in the SBIR ecosystem since 2021, leading federal acquisition efficiencies and training both CGI teams and government personnel on SBIR utility.

Before joining CGI through the merger with Aeyon, Trey served as Director of Growth and Strategy for Aeyon’s Marine Corps Sector, driving new SBIR Phase III initiatives and business development. 
Across roles, Trey is recognized as a government acquisition innovator who challenges standard methods, streamlines procedures and drives meaningful impact with solutions. 

Trey holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Clemson University.
