Nathan “Nate” Apodaca is an enterprise IT executive and strategic change agent with over 23 years of success leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives across Civilian and Defense agencies. Nate is known for driving measurable mission outcomes through customer partnership, enterprise vision, and disciplined execution. Over the course of Nate’s career, he has personally led the delivery, stabilization, and turnaround of more than $10B in enterprise IT programs across several government and DoD customer sets, consistently improving mission resilience, user experience, and service performance. Federal CIOs have recognized Nate for trusted leadership and for driving up to 300% improvement in key service metrics. 

Nate currently serves as the Space Sector Vice President for CGI Federal, where he is responsible for driving strategy, growth, and delivery excellence across CGI’s Defense Space portfolio. Nate focuses on strengthening CGI’s position within NASA and other space-focused organizations by aligning enterprise technology solutions with mission priorities, advancing modernization strategies, and cultivating high-impact industry partnerships. 

Before joining CGI Federal, Nate most recently served as the lead executive over Golden Dome at Leidos, guiding complex, multiagency enterprise modernization efforts. Prior to that, Nate served as Division Manager within the Civil Group and subsequently led the $6B NASA Space portfolio, providing executive oversight of a broad range of mission-critical programs supporting NASA’s human spaceflight, science, and exploration missions. 

Nate has led large-scale programs delivering critical technical capabilities to Air Force Space Command, the Missile Defense Agency, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, including overseeing a global information management and technology program supporting more than 37,000 USACE personnel.  

Nate graduated Cum Laude from National American University with a B.S. in Information Technology with a concentration in Management Information Systems. Nate also earned an MBA in Technology Management from Colorado Technical University. Throughout his career, he has received multiple honors, both corporate and from industry, such as the prestigious Leidos Group President's Award, which he received 4 times, the Lockheed Martin Nova Award for Program Excellence, and the Great Minds in STEM (GMiS) Luminary Award.
