Danielle Applegate, vice president of Veterans Affairs at CGI Federal, leads critical enterprise-wide initiatives to increase interoperability and efficiency at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Throughout her career, Ms. Applegate has been responsible for advancing large-scale government modernization programs. She has implemented several innovative federal health IT modernization efforts, including the deployment of electronic health records at the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs and enhancements to health information exchange across the federal health landscape during the COVID pandemic and beyond. Her efforts have aided government agencies in delivering best value to citizens through streamlined efficiencies and improved user experiences.

An Army veteran and tireless advocate, Ms. Applegate’s dedication to improving outcomes for the military and veteran community through both policy and personal advocacy has garnered numerous industry awards. In 2025, she was named to the FORUM IT100, recognizing her as one of the top technology leaders driving innovation and transformation in the federal government sector, and received a Lifetime Distinguished Service Award from the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Applegate serves on the Boards of directors of several nonprofits: the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, PsychArmor Institute, the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation, Carry the Load, and the Inova Health Foundation.
