The Rocket City Trash Pandas have one of the most distinctive names in minor-league baseball. The team, a longtime industry partner for CGI Federal, has a devoted local fan following in Huntsville.
Established in 2020 as the Los Angeles Angels’ Double-A affiliate, the team chose its name from fan-submitted nominations. It reflects both Huntsville’s space program legacy and the region’s ever-present raccoons.
Despite their relative newness and occasional struggles on the field, the Trash Pandas have captured the hearts of the Huntsville community and surrounding areas. The team’s fun branding, engaging fan experience and vibrant community outreach have made them a staple of local entertainment.
CGI Federal maintains a robust presence in Huntsville, supporting the U.S. Army and NASA. True to our corporate commitment to support the communities in which we live and work, we actively support the Trash Pandas and the Huntsville Havoc, a minor league hockey team, along with other community organizations.
