CGI has partnered with Breakthrough since 2023 to help adults facing barriers to employment to build sustainable futures through its bootcamp programme. The programme supports participants to prepare for employment and successfully transition into work or self-employment.
Breakthrough’s eight-week programme is designed to equip associates with the skills needed to succeed in a long-term, stable career within the technology and digital industries. As part of the curriculum, Breakthrough works with industry experts, including CGI, to deliver and support key sessions such as project management and AI.
Mock Assessment Events
These events mirror CGI’s real-life assessment centres, enabling participants to develop core workplace skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and communication in a timed environment. Attendees also take part in one-to-one mock interviews with CGI professionals.
CGI supports each cohort with technical training and by hosting mock assessment days. These days include mock interviews, presentation skills, and public speaking sessions helping associates feel confident and prepared to succeed in the workplace.
As part of our contractual social value commitments, clients are invited to engage with the training, sharing their experiences and feedback. This involvement adds meaningful value for Breakthrough Associates by grounding the learning in authentic, real-world insight.
Virtual Work Experience Days
Participants gain exposure to corporate life at CGI by hearing from colleagues across the business and completing team-based digital challenges in timed sessions. These sessions are designed to build confidence, communication, and practical skills that employers value.
Graduation Events
Each programme concludes with a celebration event at CGI’s Fenchurch Street office, recognising participants’ achievements and marking their transition to the next stage of their journey. A progression planning workshop follows, supporting graduates with job applications, interview techniques, and guidance on next steps.
