CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, today announced that United Educators Insurance, a Reciprocal Risk Retention Group, selected CGI’s policy, billing and claims administration system, CGI Edge®, in a competitive procurement to replace its existing legacy systems. The CGI Edge solution at United Educators includes software, services, hosting and maintenance.
The CGI Edge® implementation project will transform business systems by eliminating the current siloed environment that houses United Educators’ legacy policy, claims, and associated billing systems. With CGI Edge®, United Educators will implement a fully-integrated solution with a single source of data that is critical to drive timely business decisions and meet the needs of increased transparency and accountability to their members.
“As Education’s Own Insurance Company and the leading insurer of educational institutions, we know we need a policy and claims administration system that provides state-of-the-art functionality while setting the stage for future growth,” said Michael Horning, Chief Financial Officer of United Educators. “CGI Edge offers web-based functionality that is on par with several “best-of-breed” solutions and provides the flexibility and configuration options we need to provide those tailored services to our members with little system customization.”
“CGI welcomes United Educators to the CGI Edge client community and we look forward to partnering with them on their initiative to transform their core insurance systems to a fully-integrated enterprise solution,” said Mike Reagan, Vice-President, Insurance Solutions, CGI.
