CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) and Chugach Electric Association, based in Anchorage, Alaska, have signed an agreement for the implementation of CGI’s industry-leading PragmaLINE outage and network management system. Chugach chose the solution because of its proven ability to reduce outages and speed up restoration times.
“Alaska is a geographic region with extreme weather that creates significant utility network challenges,” said Dwight Dial, director of information services for Chugach Electric. “PragmaLINE’s capabilities have been well tested, and we are confident the solution will enable us to meet our network performance objectives.”
PragmaLINE offers robust outage and network management capabilities, including proactive outage detection, isolation and tracking, storm management, damage assessment, crew management, outage restoration and customer communications.
“PragmaLINE’s capabilities have been proven in extreme weather situations such as Superstorm Sandy,” said David Hotte, vice president, utility solutions, at CGI. “We believe it is the ideal solution for managing Alaska’s extreme weather conditions, and we look forward to working with Chugach Electric to drive significant improvements in its outage and network management operations for the benefit of the company and the customers it serves.”
