As a major supporter of the Royal Institution’s CHRISTMAS LECTURES, we are proud to feature an interview between our UK President, Tara McGeehan, and this year’s lecturer, Dame Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock. Their conversation explores the 2025 theme and shows how space science shapes daily life and future discoveries. With more than 45 years of experience in the space sector, we support missions that deepen our understanding of the universe and deliver technology that benefits society.

The 2025 CHRISTMAS LECTURES

The 2025 series marks the 200th anniversary of the CHRISTMAS LECTURES. Maggie’s theme, “An Epic Voyage Through Time and Space”, traces how our understanding of the universe has evolved, from early stargazing to modern missions.

A conversation about curiosity, discovery and the future

Building on a shared interest in the UK space industry Tara and Maggie’s discussion brings together scientific insight and human storytelling. They explore what drives today’s space missions, how our knowledge is developing, and why space continues to capture our imagination.

To add fresh perspectives, the conversation includes selected questions from CGI Partners and children. Their curiosity reflects the same spirit that fuels STEM learning and the discoveries ahead.
