At CGI, we are deeply passionate about supporting STEM education in schools and growing the innovative pool of talent which we recruit from. Myself, and many of my colleagues, have been avid viewers of the CHRISTMAS LECTURES since our own school days and appreciate the inspiration and understanding that they can bring to seemingly complex topics. The Royal Institution CHRISTMAS LECTURES provides us with a platform to engage with schools and young individuals, facilitating discussions about the importance of science in society and our daily lives.

CHRISTMAS LECTURES 2024

In this year’s CHRISTMAS LECTURES, NHS Doctor and leading science presenter Dr Chris van Tulleken will reveal the revolutionary science around what happens inside our bodies when we eat. Chris will investigate how food has fundamentally shaped human evolution, uncover the importance of our microbiome – as the extra ‘organ’ we didn’t know we had – and ask how we can all eat better in the future, for the sake of our own health and the health of the planet.

The 2024 CHRISTMAS LECTURES will be filmed in the Royal Institution’s iconic theatre on 10, 12 and 14 December 2024 and broadcast on BBC Four and iPlayer at Christmas time.
