In this story from our “What is DE&I, really?” series, a CGI Partner from our REACH (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) Network reflects on celebrating Diwali at work and how a well-meaning question from a colleague left her feeling unsure of how to respond. Before she had to say a word, another colleague stepped in and respectfully corrected the assumption.
That small act not only spared her a difficult moment, it made her feel seen and respected for who she is. At CGI, allyship means knowing when to speak up, and how to be an owner of the culture we create. That’s how we build an unconditionally inclusive workplace for everyone. And that’s DE&I, really.
