From 2–13 June 2025, CGI proudly hosted the CGI Cyber Escape experience at Media City, Salford - a dynamic and engaging way to promote vital cyber security skills across the North West.
This mobile, interactive experience enabled participants to step into the role of a cyber professional, applying teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving to tackle realistic cyber threats. By cracking codes, solving puzzles and racing against the clock, individuals gained first-hand insight into the importance of cyber hygiene and how simple actions can help safeguard our increasingly digital society.
Building outcomes that matter
The CGI Cyber Escape experience goes beyond interactive learning, it supports our broader mission to build cyber-secure communities and strengthen national resilience. By engaging audiences of all ages in immersive, practical learning, CGI is fostering a culture of cyber awareness, empowerment, and long-term impact.
We witnessed how the experience sparked curiosity and boosted confidence, particularly among young people considering careers in the cyber sector. Initiatives like this play a key role in creating future-ready outcomes and nurturing the next generation of digital defenders.
CGI x IN4 Group & CyberFirst: shaping the future of tech talent
This experience also forms part of CGI’s wider collaboration with IN4 Group and CyberFirst - a partnership designed to strengthen regional tech talent pipelines and drive inclusive economic growth.
As an APEX sponsor, CGI is committed to building a sustainable tech workforce by engaging early with young people, especially those from underrepresented and underserved communities. This directly supports our Social Value commitments: to increase digital inclusion, improve diversity in STEM, and enhance economic mobility through education and skills development.
“Our partnership with IN4 Group is central to CGI’s commitment to developing future-ready skills here in the North West. Hosting the Cyber Escape Room in Salford brings that to life—making cyber learning hands-on, inclusive and engaging. It’s about inspiring the next generation and strengthening the region’s resilience in a digital world.” - Jeremy Brown, Vice President Consulting Services, CGI in the UK
Our partnership with IN4 Group enables scalable impact, particularly around schools engagement, career pathways, and real-world exposure to tech. Together, we are helping bridge the digital divide and deliver meaningful outcomes for communities and the economy.
“The CGI Cyber Escape Room has been an inspiring way to bring the cyber sector to life in MediaCity for students in our schools, colleges and communities. It’s experiences like this that break down barriers and help young people see that a future in tech is open to everyone, regardless of their background. At IN4 Group, we’re proud to work with partners like CGI to deliver programmes such as CyberFirst and MEGA Hubs, connecting local talent to real opportunities and building a resilient, inclusive pipeline of cyber professionals for the North West.” - Lauren Monks, Director of CyberFirst & MEGA Hubs, IN4 Group
A collaborative effort
No single organisation can solve the digital skills challenge alone. CGI believes in joined-up action across industry, government and education. Our model is to co-create opportunity with local partners, businesses and schools - growing tech careers from grassroots to graduate.
Thank you to all involved in making this experience a success. Through our partnerships with initiatives such as CyberFirst and IN4 Group, CGI continues to deliver long-term, positive outcomes for education, industry and society - strengthening the UK’s cyber capabilities through community-led action.
