Elexon extends contract with CGI to provide IT and Business Processing Services

CGI announces a five-year, £44m business processing and IT outsourcing agreement with Elexon

CGI is pleased to announce a further five-year extension of its business processing and IT outsourcing contract with Elexon. This will further extend the 21-year relationship between the two companies and will see CGI continue to deliver a wide range of IT services supporting Elexon’s digital transformation strategy.

Under the terms of this extended contract, CGI will operate and manage all of Elexon’s core industry applications. This includes the provision of Elexon’s customer service desk, management of a number of core industry processes including end-of-day settlement, infrastructure and network hosting, in addition to application management and development services. The five-year contract will also support Elexon’s drive to deliver internal efficiencies and optimize the support it provides its customers.

Additionally, CGI will help Elexon deliver a range of new transformational projects within a multi-vendor ecosystem to support their customers and the industry change needed to realize the benefits created by the UK’s smart meter rollout.
