LONDON, 09 May 2023

CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A), the worldwide IT and business consulting services firm, has today announced it has been awarded three managed IT services contracts for North Wales Police (NWP). The force awarded opportunities across three areas: Managed Workplace Services, Enterprise Communication Services and Enterprise Systems Services. The contracted services will manage a secure ICT infrastructure estate, desktop and mobile environments, networks, business and technical applications. Together the contracts total over £15m across the initial four-year term.

The awarding of the contracts demonstrates the partnership CGI has built with the force over time with the delivery of operational efficiencies and support for NWP’s transformation programme.

Seb Phillips of North Wales Police, said: “CGI has provided a strong service to the force over the last seven years, and we are pleased to be continuing to work with them into the future. The new contracts provide an opportunity to build on our trusted partnership with CGI as we look to develop our effective use of technology and ensure that it acts as a critical enabler, supporting the delivery of the best possible service that we can to our NWP communities.”

Donna Kelly, Senior Vice President, CGI in the UK, said; “At CGI, we are proud of the lasting partnership we have with NWP and we look forward to continuing to support its work protecting the community in North Wales.”

During the contracted term, CGI will enable NWP to deliver initiatives defined as part of their strategic plan including cloud transformation and application rationalisation, resulting in efficiency savings for the Police and Crime Commissioner.

As part of the contracts, CGI and NWP will continue to work together on a comprehensive joint programme of environmental, social and governance activities throughout the region to support local initiatives and improve quality of life for residents through a variety of charitable support and outreach programmes. The initiatives support all areas of the community, including young people, families and vulnerable citizens. The community work is focussed on three major themes: enhancing educational opportunities for the young, supporting vulnerable and older people and helping improve local communities. Projects in the past have included helping to equip a forest school in Porthmadog, supporting an arts programme for young people with mental health issues, and providing plants for a community memorial garden.
